Going on a Summer Holiday

Even though we’ve been experiencing a cold spell, there’s still summer to look forward to next year.

We Brits love a good break. Whether this is a long luxurious summer holiday, a weekend break in the city or a trip to our holiday home. Whatever the reason or destination we just can’t wait to pull on our T shirts and flip flops.

Let’s see what the most popular destinations are:

  1. Spain – It’s not surprising that Ibiza and the Balearic Islands (including Costa del Sol) are the most popular summer destinations. You know what you can expect as the weather is guaranteed to be good. There are other options besides beach holidays. The football mini-break to watch Barcelona play is on the rise. Or a tour of Castile for its Castles and interior.

2. Greece – This is not a big surprise. Greek myths, history and mystery still captivate us. We know the weather won’t let us down, and that there will be beautiful beaches where we can lounge all day. Mykonos is the most popular island. 3. Turkey – Turkey has lost popularity due to political unrest, leadership issues and its proximity to Syria. It’s a shame because the country has not only beautiful beaches, but also UNESCO-listed sites and vibrant towns with a lot of character. This is a chance to visit the meeting point of western and eastern cultures.

No matter where you are, enjoy your holidays!
